Microsoft’s Surface RT has seen less than spectacular sales numbers and now they’re dropping the price to try and improve that. The new price for the 32GB Surface RT (which includes Office 2013) is just $389 down from $559 at launch. This now changes the tablet landscape considerable. This is now far cheaper than market leader iPad and a much more capable device and ecosystem than Android-based tablets.
Looking broader, Intel’s 4th generation haswell processors are now achieving battery life that will rival ARM-based processors. At the new price, it’s probably time to re-consider the Surface as a device for meetings at work or the lounge room.
