    Microsoft Tech.Ed Australia 2009 #auteched

    tech.ed australia 2009

Next week I’ll be on the sunny Gold Coast, covering all the happenings at Microsoft’s Tech.Ed conference.

If your not familiar with the event, it’s Microsoft’s showcase event, where they discuss existing and future Microsoft software products. There’s a healthy mix of partners / vendors showing of their wares as well.

    Coverage (the plan)

This year I want to focus on what the experience is like for a Tech.Ed attendee. This includes the getting to Tech.Ed, the registration process, getting your gift bag/Netbook, the keynote, the sessions, the show floor, the networking event, Endnote.

I’ll probably film a lot on my iPhone and upload immediately to YouTube, but also want to sit down at the end of each day and do a wrap up of everything I’ve seen. Then collate that into a podcast at the end of the week.

Still tossing up weather or not to live blog the sessions, I think a better approach may be to take notes, then post a summary of the discussion. Also depends on the wireless situation as well.

    Twitter Conversation

Be sure to watch the conversation about the event on twitter and if your going to be there, remember to use the #auteched tag when posting your comments.

It’s also been suggested that people use #eventcode (where event code is the session id) to discuss particular sessions, will have to wait and see how many people do this.

    Coverage by Dell Adamo

    Dell Adamo

Dell has been kind enough to lend me an Adamo review unit for the event. I’ll be using this as my sole machine throughout the conference. I’ll be putting it through it’s paces.. testing how it handles video editing, battery life etc. Look for a full review shortly after Tech.ed. Naturally, I already have Windows 7, Office 2010 Tech Preview and Microsoft Security Essentials installed on it.
