OMG!! OCZ 1TB SSD MLC PCIE

image

Engadget posted a story this morning (complete with gallery), of the MASSIVE new OCZ 1 terabyte solid state drive. We’re used to smallish SSD’s like 8 or even 32GB SSD’s, but this monster puts them all to shame. It straps 4x256GB SSD’s together into a single unit.

Interestingly they use a 8x PCI-Express slot on your motherboard to deliver read speeds of up to 600MB/sec and write speeds of 500MB/sec.

Expected availability of the 1TB SSD is expected in the US mid-April and as you would expect attracts a hefty price – US$1,500 to $2,000.
