Keen to get your hands on the new Nintendo Switch. You can pre-order it now, only catch is the price. Somehow US$299.99 became A$469.95 by the time it reached the pre-order page at EB Games for a $50 deposit. By comparison, the Switch is more expensive than both the Xbox One S for A$399.00 or a PlayStation 4 for $439.
There’s a strict limit of 1 per customer.
If you’re in Sydney, you’ll get it on the launch date of March 3rd and thanks to the wonders of international timezones, we’ll be one of the first in the world to get gaming on the Switch.
If you’re not in Sydney and somewhere in a regional area where they have to stick it on a truck and deliver it to you, it may be as much as 3 days later before you open the box.
The steep prices don’t stop at the console, they also extend to accessories. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller costs A$99.95,
The other problem is games. As of today, there’s just 3 games confirmed for launch day. This will surely change between now and March, but in terms of what you can purchase today with your pre-order, you’ll only find The Legend of Zelda, 1-2-Switch and Just Dance 2017.
If you’re still struggling to understand the price tag and how Nintendo can imagine a console with less graphical capabilities would be worth more than the 2 options from Sony and Microsoft, same here.
I can’t guarentee it’ll help, but here’s a quick walkthrough of how the console transformer works.
