    Nokia pays $8.1 Billion for NAVTEQ

    In Nokia’s official press release, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, President and CEO of  Nokia said “Location based services are one of the cornerstones of Nokia’s Internet services strategy. The acquisition of NAVTEQ is another step toward Nokia becoming a leading player in this space” .

    One wonders if this could be the start of location-based advertising on mobile devices.
