DJI introduces the Agras T50, a massive drone with massive agriculture benefits

DJI leads the world in drones and this week they announced the international launch of the Agras T50 and Agras T25 drones. Building on top of the popular Agras drone range of drones, there’s now a new flagship, the T50.

The DJI Agras T50 offers unmatched efficiency for larger-scale growing operations, while the lightweight T25 is designed to be more portable for smaller fields.

Both drones are compatible with the upgraded SmartFarm app which offers powerful features for comprehensive aerial application management.

As a global leader in agriculture technology, we aim to push precision agriculture forward with the latest DJI Agras drones for spraying and spreading. To date, over 980 million acres worldwide across over 100 countries and regions have been treated by DJI Agriculture drones.

With our proven solutions for crop protection, family farmers and large-scale growers can improve yields, reduce chemical usage, and cut costs, while minimising environmental impact.

Better Growth with the Agras T50

The Agras T50 is firmly targeted at those managing large-scale farms seeking efficiency in their operations. With massive 54″ props in a dual-rotor configuration (above and below the arm) the drone offers new capabilities.

The scale is best appreciated in the diagonal dimension prop to prop is a massive 2.2 metres wide. The spreading system will distribute the payload to as much as an 8-meter radius.

The T50 is capable of carrying 40L/40kg spraying or 75L/50kg spreading payloads, which enables efficient spraying of up to 50 acres (21 hectares) per hour.

T50’s dual atomisation spraying system features an increased flow rate of up to 16 litres per minute with two sprinklers and adjustable-sized spray droplets, this makes it ideal for a variety of applications from fields to orchards.

Easily converted to its spreading configuration, the T50 can carry 50kg of dry granules and spread at a flow rate of up to 108 kg/min or 1.5 tonnes per hour.

This combination of power, precision, and versatility sets T50 apart as a top choice in agricultural drones, designed to meet the evolving needs of modern farming.

The T50 tips the scales at 39.9 kg (excl. battery), or 52 kg (incl. battery).

    Connectivity and Stability

T50 features an upgraded 4-antenna O3 transmission system which allows it to be monitored and controlled from as far as 2 km away. For operations over mountains and other complex environments, users can deploy a DJI Relay to extend transmission range and stability for improved operation safety.

    Obstacle Bypassing and Terrain Following

The T50 features dual Active Phased Array Radars and binocular vision sensors which it leverages to accurately reconstruct the environment and detect nearby obstacles. This allows the drone to deliver the payloads into challenging environments while using intelligent obstacle sensing and bypassing.

While we often think of cropland as large flat surfaces, the reality is far from that and DJI’s T50 offers Terrain Following to accommodate slopes, something not found in their consumer drone lineup.

    4 Sprinkler Kit

T50 can be equipped with an additional pair of centrifugal sprinklers, increasing the flow rate to 24 litres per minute.

This higher flow rate allows the payload to penetrate dense canopies like orchard spraying.

    Real-Time Weighing

The DJI Agras T40 is equipped with a weighing sensor which allows you to monitor the remaining payload in real time. There’s also control over the spreading rate which allows you to improve spreading accuracy with a low flow rate.

    Fast Charging

T50 is powered by a DB1560 Intelligent Flight Battery, with a capacity of up to 30 Ah. These batteries are rated for as many as 1,500 charge cycles.

The batteries can be fast charged in as little as 9 minutes, allowing for continuous operations with a pair of batteries. This is achieved thanks to the D12000iEP Multifunctional Inverter Generator paired with the Air-Cooled Heat Sink.

Agras T25 – Precision Agriculture in a Portable Package

While the T50 is the new flagship, not everyone needs the biggest (and most expensive) option. To accommodate that, DJI is also introducing the Agras T25 which includes the advanced features of the T50 in a smaller, portable design.

Being smaller, it makes it more portable but does reduce the available payload, still a generous 20kg for spraying or 25kg spreading payload.

The T25 includes the T50’s top features like multidirectional obstacle avoidance, Terrain Following, ultra-fast battery charging, one-tap takeoffs, and automatic operations. This makes it perfect for solo use in small to medium-sized farms.

DJI SmartFarm – Essential Agras Assistant

While consumer pilots will be familiar with the DJI Fly app, the Agras uses a dedicated DJI SmartFarm app that streamlines daily drone operations.

For crop protection and plot management with enhanced data visualisation and reporting, a dynamic device management dashboard, and easy access to after-sales support and DJI Academy to access learning resources.

    Availability

The Agras T50 and T25 can now be reserved starting April 25. Interested buyers can get pricing from local authorised DJI Agriculture dealers. Learn more: ag.dji.com
