Albury is getting the first V4 Tesla Superchargers in Australia

Tesla has been rolling our V4 Superchargers internationally, but today we learn that Albury, NSW will be the first location in Australia to get access to the faster, newest generation chargers.

The site is said to have at least 9 Superchargers, but could be as many as 15 and conversations with installers reveal they could be online as soon as next week.

This is great news for the regional city of Albury Wodonga, a main stopover for those travelling between Melbourne and Sydney. Until now, Tesla owners have largely relied on a 6-bay Supercharger in Wodonga which has seen a dramatic increase in its utilisation.

Tesla opened its first V4 Supercharger location in Harderwijk, the Netherlands in March 2023. All V4 Superchargers are equipped with a longer cable, providing easy access for all EVs. V4 currently supports peak rates of up to 250kW per vehicle and is future-proofed to allow for updates and new features.

From some electrical information, we know these chargers are rated for up to 350kW speeds, matching that of the fastest from other charging networks like Chargefox and Evie Networks.
