Paramount+ now available on available on Foxtel iQ3, iQ4 and iQ5 set top boxes

FOXTEL has announced the availability of the Paramount+ app available on iQ3, iQ4 and iQ5 set top boxes today. While the number of streaming services continues to grow, having access to them on a single device, means Foxtel increases its chances of owning HDMI1.

The Paramount+ app will unlock a library of premium content including Halo, Yellowjackets, 1923, Rabbit Hole, Tulsa King, South Park, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.

It is impressive to see Foxtel support the older iQ boxes, the iQ3 was first released way back on the 23rd of March 2015 and is still getting new updates.

Paramount+ joins FOXTEL’s existing suite of local and global streaming apps including Disney+, ABC iview, SBS on Demand, 10 Play, 9 Now, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and Vevo, bringing together some of the world’s best content, all in one place.

If you wanted to get Foxtel in the past, it meant you needed to get a satellite on your roof to receive the satellite signal. This which meant an installer would need to come and install a dish on your roof, drill some holes in your roof and wire a thick coax cable to your lounge room to connect to the back of a set top box.

Thankfully Australia’s internet has dramatically improved in the past few years and internet-delivered streaming media is now available to a majority of Australians.

With connectivity no longer a challenge for most (many helped by SpaceX’s Starlink), adding Foxtel to your home is as easy as ordering an iQ5 with your service and connecting power, internet and HDMI cables.

This also has the benefit of appealing to the rental market, with not every landlord keen to have permanent medications made to their investments, or those who live in apartment buildings where satellite dishes simply aren’t possible.

For those not Paramount+ subscribers, you can get a 7 days free trial, or pay A$8.99 per month and can cancel anytime without penalty.
