If you’ve a fan of clubs, music, DJ’s or mixers, you need to check out this video. The equipment setup required to be a pro DJ today is pretty insane. Not only do they have the regular spaghetti mess of audio routing to work out, but now as devices get smarter, they requiring network connectivity to get firmware updates.
Each revision ads new functionality and that’s before we even touch on the software side of things. A laptop, in this case a Macbook, or even iPads are now common control surfaces.
This particular model is the Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus. Skilfully demonstrated by DJ’s James Zabiela and Nic Fancuilli its easy to see why being a DJ is a LOT harder than you imagine. Hardware like this doesn’t come cheap, your looking at an RRP of US$2,399.. so stop shouting drinks to that chick with the low-cut top and start saving.
