Recent Android flip phones launched in Australia have all been priced exactly the same:
- Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 $1,499
- OPPO Find N2 Flip $1,499
- motorola razr 40 ultra $1,499
However now there’s a new option in the $999 motorola razr 40 which is much more affordable and in some ways could be better than big brother the motorola razr 40 ultra which was also announced last week:
- For starters the razr 40 has a 4200 mAh battery which is 10% more than the razr 40 ultra which has 3800 mAh,
- Then there’s the exterior, the new razr 40 comes with a very different look, combining Gorilla Glass on the inside and a grippy vegan leather (soft touch plastic) on the outside which won’t get scratched like glass,
- On paper you’d say the razr 40’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is worse than the Qualcomm razr 40 ultra’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 however it should mean a longer battery life,
- At 1.5″ the razr 40 secondary cover display is less than half the razr 40 ultra’s relatively huge 3.6″ cover display. However again this should boost battery life.
The motorola razr 40 will be available at major retailers from 21 July in Sage Green, Vanilla Cream or Summer Lilac.
Bigger brother the motorola razr 40 ultra will be available from 10th July in Infinite Black, Glacier Blue and Viva Magenta.
