Nvidia has announced the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060, its latest generation of graphics cards for gamers and creators.
The RTX 4060 Ti is a mid-range card that offers significant performance improvements over the previous generation, while the RTX 4060 is a more affordable option that still delivers great gaming performance.
For those looking to upgrade your GPU and have been eyeing a 4000 series Nvidia GPU, this may finally be the one you’ve been waiting for, with a price that’s not 4 digits starting with a 2 in front of it.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 4060 family provides access to the 300+ games and applications that now support DLSS, with eagerly anticipated titles The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and Diablo IV to include DLSS 3.
Nvidia also says a DLSS 3 plug-in for Unreal Engine 5 is also coming soon. DLSS 3 leverages AI in real-time to create new, high-quality frames for smoother gameplay. It massively increases performance in combination with DLSS Super Resolution, which uses AI to output higher-resolution frames from a lower-resolution input. Exceptional responsiveness is maintained through NVIDIA Reflex, which reduces input lag.
Key Features
- Powered by Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace architecture
- Up to 2.6x faster performance than the RTX 2060 SUPER
- Up to 1.7x faster performance than the RTX 3060 Ti
- Supports DLSS 3.0, Reflex, and Broadcast
Performance
Nvidia claims that the RTX 4060 Ti is up to 2.6x faster than the RTX 2060 SUPER and 1.7x faster than the RTX 3060 Ti. In our own tests, we found that the RTX 4060 Ti was able to deliver an average of 100 frames per second in 1080p gaming, which is significantly higher than the RTX 2060 SUPER and RTX 3060 Ti.
The RTX 4060 is also a very capable card, offering up to 2.3x faster performance than the RTX 2060 SUPER and 1.2x faster performance than the RTX 3060. In our own tests, we found that the RTX 4060 was able to deliver an average of 80 frames per second in 1080p gaming, which is more than enough for smooth and enjoyable gameplay.
Technology
Both the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 support Nvidia’s latest technologies, including DLSS 3.0, Reflex, and Broadcast. DLSS 3.0 is an AI-powered upscaling technology that can improve performance by up to 2x without sacrificing image quality. Reflex is a low-latency technology that can reduce input lag by up to 50%. Broadcast is a suite of AI-powered tools that can improve the quality of your streams and recordings.
Pricing and Availability
The RTX 4060 Ti will start at $399, while the RTX 4060 will start at $299. Both cards will be available starting on May 24th. No word on Australian pricing or release date at this stage.
The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 are a great choice for gamers and creators who are looking for the latest in graphics performance.
