Razer’s new Kiyo Pro Ultra webcam offers the largest sensor ever in a webcam, bokeh effects and built-in shutter

Webcams have been evolving slowly over the years, but Razer is trying to change that with a new webcam announced at CES2023, the Kiyo Pro Ultra. This webcam offers the largest sensor ever included in a camera, a 1/1.2″ SONY STARVIS™ 2 SENSOR.

The bigger sensor with a 2.9 μm pixel size, the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra captures 3.9x more light compared to other webcams, ensuring exceptional detail and colour for pro-grade content creation. The large F/1.7 aperture lens.

The Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra, aims to deliver DSLR-level quality and features, with the simplicity of a USB webcam.

Powered by a cutting-edge processor, the webcam can convert raw 4K 30 FPS (or 1080P 60FPS) footage into uncompressed 4K 24 FPS, 1440P 30 FPS, or 1080P 60 FPS video directly to your stream.

Using Razer’s Synpse Software, you can adjust the depth of field, blurring the background while keeping you clearly in focus. You can also configure the field of view (82-72 degrees), zoom, pan, tilt, ISO, shutter speed, and more.

In terms of setup, it’s quick and easy and if you’re getting into streaming, you can avoid the complex setup of a DSLR camera with a tripod and power adapter, then connecting HDMI out from the camera, into a capture card and that plays well with your streaming software like OBS.

Razer leverage the power of AI to ensure you have a perfectly exposed, focused, image and also offers face tracking for those who like to move around during a video call or stream.

If you’re someone who wants to take the webcam between locations, you’ll be happy to know the Kiyo Pro Ultra webcam offers on-board storage to maintain settings between locations.

For those privacy-conscious users, there’s a built-in lens cover, closed by turning the camera (anti-clockwise to turn it on).

The price of the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is AU$499.95 and is available to order now, with expected delivery dates from January 12th.
