Australian Samsung Galaxy S4 launch to be on April 23, sadly no octa-core

Samsung will officially launch their new Galaxy S4 device in Australia on Tuesday, April 23.

The device has already been confirmed on all the big Aussie telcos with the pricing and exact release dates to be confirmed at the launch.

The Galaxy S4 was officially unveiled last month at an event in New York City. The phone keeps the familiar look and feel to its predecessor but includes a 4.99″ Full HD display, comes with a 13-megapixel camera and features a number of Samsung-exclusive software features.

Sadly though, Australian’s will miss out on the blisteringly fast octa-core processor and receive the quad-core snapdragon instead.

    Samsung has said that:

Samsung Australia is today confirming that the Samsung GALAXY S 4 will be available in Australia with the Quad-core 1.9 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Series 600 processor and 4G LTE compatibility.Globally, the majority of GS4 LTE versions will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon while 3G versions will be equipped with Samsung Exynos.
