Dell’s new Latitude XT features a flashy new multi-touch 12.1-inch LCD and weighs only 1.6 kilograms.
The default specs are nothing to write home about, but you choose from a number of options.
Vista apparently supports touch-based flicks and gestures that can enable greater efficiency in everyday computing. So those who are thinking of running XP on this thing, may want to think twice.
The idea of having a tablet that lets you control it using your hands, gets me giddy with excitement. Sadly that excitement is quickly squashed with the price tag. The Latitude XT starts at $3,500.
Not to sure how US $2499 translates into AU $3,500.
After the iPhone was announced, it didn’t take long after for consumers to start thinking of larger possibilities. I’m impressed at how quickly Dell got a device (the first of it’s kind) to market. Of course there’s, Microsoft Surface table, but we won’t be getting one in our lounge room any time soon.
So for now, there’s no denying that having multi-touch on a 12″ screen would be unbelievably cool, sadly it’s overpriced.
If money is no object and you have 2 have the latest technology, Dell start taking orders for the device next Wednesday, 19th December.
