League of Legends Arcane: Netflix series Season 1 on Blu-ray, Season 2 streaming now

League of Legends Arcane took the world by storm when it was released in 2021. Players of the game, as well those into anime or sci-fi instantly loved the game’s adaptation. With a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and racking up over 72 million hours viewed during this initial release, it quickly became one of the best series ever on Netflix.

After Season 1 of the award-winning series from Riot Games, Season 2 was quickly announced. Now, as Season 2 airs on Netflix, fans can relive the magic of Season 1 in stunning 4K and Blu-ray. Our article is spoiler free, even if you haven’t seen Season 1.

    Arcane Season 1

We watched League of Legends (LoL) Arcane Season 1 every week it came out. It’s a mixture of beautiful artwork, well-crafted story, high-end technology, and plenty of nods to the game. I remember when Season 1 finished, I was sad, like when you watch a good movie or anime and you get to the end wanting more. We were confident that the show had done well and hoped for another season. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait long, and the day after the final episode of Season 1 was released, we had an announcement that Season 2 was already in production.

Season 1 focused on League of Legends Champions Vi and Jinx, their relationship and how they develop as characters. Other prominent characters from the game include Caitlyn, Jayce, Viktor, and Ekko. Throughout the season, we see the story build through beautiful animation. The action sequences are epic, the soundtrack is heart-wrenching, and each part of the narrative draws you in emotionally.

    Season 1 on Blu-ray and 4K

In partnership with international licensor GKIDS, Sugoi Co released League of Legends Arcane on Blu-ray and 4K. Fans can purchase Standard, Blu-ray, Steelbook Blu-ray, and Steelbook UHD 4K Editions, as well as a very limited Collector’s Edition. Each copy includes all nine episodes of Season 1 and over three hours of additional content. This is one of my favourite pieces when it comes to purchasing physical copies of movies and shows.

I have always loved the bonus features, and Arcane doesn’t disappoint. Bonus content includes a personal favourite, “The Making of Arcane“. I love seeing how designers, animators, and artists bring to life characters on screen. You’ll see everything from storyboards to music composition, digital artwork, and the creation of specific scenes.

For those fans wanting to dive deeper, there’s full scene breakdowns of key scenes in Arcane Season 1. One of the most loved characters from the season is Mel, voiced by Toks Olagundoye, whom fans say is a perfect fit for the confident, young, beautiful, and authentic leader. If Mel is one of your favourites, you’ll find a neat featurette of her on these copies of Arcane Season 1.

With League of Legends Arcane Season 2 streaming on Netflix now, it’s the perfect time to grab a copy of Season 1 and relive the magic.
