Tonight was Sydney’s turn for Twitter’s developer event, #HelloWorld. The event invited local developers to hear from Twitter staff about new features in their platform, as well as some great examples of local successes, like Clive Dickins of Seven West Media who spoke about the broadcaster leveraging social to improve business and engage audiences.
We also heard from Leslie Nassar & Peter McEvoy from the ABC program #QandA and how Twitter’s tools and technology were used to create a platform that is robust, efficient, and massively successful integration of social into live TV. Amazingly there’s just a single developer behind the Tweet workflow and they claim to be one of the fastest in the world to go from tweet to screen, in as little as 5 seconds.
The event was kicked off by Karen Stocks, MD Twitter Australia who admits, she’s not a developer, but we’ll forgive her for that, she runs a great, diverse company. Despite being at the top of Twitter Australia, she strangely doesn’t have a verified blue tick on her account.
