Tuesday TED Talk: Elon Musk talks about the future below, on and above earth.

Recently Elon Musk sat down with Chris Anderson to discuss his newest ambitious project digging tunnels under Los Angeles, the latest from Tesla and SpaceX as he continues his endevour to transition the human race to a multiplanitary species, taking us to Mars.

This is the talk where Musk shows off his bold vision to dig underground tunnels below cities and have parking bays that you park a regular car on. That platform then lowers below the ground and allows traffic to flow at high-speed, much higher than is currently possible in city congestion.

There is just one problem with this, the gaping hole that’s left in the ground when the platform lowers the car down. If a pedestrian was to fall down one of these holes, it’d be pretty bad for business. Of course there’ll be an elegant solution to fencing off the area for the period of time the hole is open and this is the detail needs to be fleshed out to bring this vision to reality.

The TED Talk runs for around 40 minutes and was recorded in Vancouver back in April. Check out the video below, its well worth your time.
