This morning Twitter’s design account posted this photo. Reportedly from a design thinking session, the proposed layout brings a visually interesting display of what is typically heavily text-based service. By interrogating twitter links to extract images, combined with embedded media, this layout would be reasonable simple to pull off.
If the layout looks familiar, it’s because it could easily be confused with Pinterest. Twitter certainly isn’t the only service guilty of taking influence from the Pinterest-style layout, in fact it’s quickly becoming a industry standard layout. What do you think of the new layout? This is unlikely to replace the default tweets, but instead be an option or perhaps even be delivered via a dedicated client.
