The start of the 2015 Formula One season is just a few weeks away and this year, the Melbourne GP will be very special. Tesla Motors is providing attendees of the Grand Prix and those interested in the Tesla Model S (who isn’t?) the chance to arrive in style. As part of a Tesla test drive event from the Marriott Melbourne to the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit from 12-15 March, attendees will drive the Tesla Model S.

To get in on the action, you’ll need to RSVP via the website event form and turn up at a pre-booked time between 9am and 1pm. You will receive a detailed tour of a Model S on display at the Marriott Melbourne, followed by a 20-30 minute drive to the circuit. If this isn’t at the top of your bucket list, you better check your pulse, this would be an awesome experience, so get on it.

If you choose to, you can load up to three of your friends for the experience. Alternatively you can leave them behind to be insanely jealous. Tesla hopes that by putting you behind the wheel will allow you to admire the design, performance, and technology of Model S, an award winning electric vehicle that matches the performance of a sports car with the comfort of a sedan.

Tesla’s product specialists will be on site to co-pilot the drive and walk them through the unique features of the vehicle, including Autopilot and other applications through the 17 inch touch screen.

Those patrons interested in attending are able to RSVP to the event via the website event form, placing their ticket type in the comments section allowing their test drive to be tailored to the most convenient gate accessible. While this opportunity for a lucky few isn’t the same as racing Red Bull’s now top driver, Daniel Ricciardo around in the RB-11, it’s a pretty great alternative.
