Remember a few years back when Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer stood on stage and held up a HP tablet that was going to compete with the iPad? Do then you’d also remember that HP’s tablet offerings completely failed. While last time it was a Windows 7-based tablet, this time round the outcome may be very different.
Armed with a touch-first OS, Windows 8 could actually provide a decent alternative to the iPad. cNet are reporting that these tablets will come in a variety of skews including both Intel x86 and ARM processors. Expect some further details or perhaps even official confirmation at Mobile World Conference next week.
